In order to keep trapshooting active over the winter and introduce the sport to new shooters, the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley clubs are hosting a winter trapshooting league.

League Events

The league is held once a month on a Saturday and consists of 50 Singles, 50 Handicap, and 50 Doubles. These are PITA (Pacific International Trapshooting Association) registered targets and PITA rules apply. Registration opens one hour before first event start time. The events are shot over 2 traps and run like a regular PITA shoot. The league will use a 3 classification system (A, B, and C).

New Shooters

Are you new to PITA competition shooting? The Winter League is a perfect chance for you to try out PITA competition style shooting in a shorter format. If you've shot a few trap practice rounds, then PITA competition is no different and you are ready for competition shooting. It's like shooting practice rounds but you're eligible to win prizes and your scores get registered with the PITA. As a new shooter, you will be classified in B class in singles and doubles, and 20 yards in handicap. But as an unclassified new shooter, you are eligible to win the Unclassified Champion and you will also get raffle tickets that will allow you to win even more prizes. And on top of it all, you will be able to shoot enough targets to get you classified for the PITA season next year. You will also get an opportunity to meet fellow trapshooters and get tips on how to become a better shooter. Just bring your shotgun (it can be a pump, break, or semi-auto), 6 boxes of target shells (1150fps in size 7.5 or 8), eye/ear protection, your PAL, and a shooting vest/shell pouch (and if you don't have one, your pant pockets will do just fine). Show up at least 30 minutes prior to the start time for registration, let us know that you are new to PITA competition, and we will take care of the rest and pair you with an experienced shooter who will help you through the day. If you still need additional information, feel free to email shootbcta@gmail.com
